Easy Basics, Tutorial Step by Step for Beginners. Chapter 6, Publishing Your Video on Your Computer and On Youtube from the Windows Movie Maker "Light" series. First publish your video on your computer and then upload it to youtube. 1- Click the "Publish Movie" button below the menu 2- Choose to publish on "This Computer" and click "Next" 3- Enter a file name for the movie, save it under "Desktop" and click "Next" 4- Click "Publish" and watch the progress with the green indicator 5- Click "Finish" when it's done publishing and the movie will automatically play on your media viewer. To upload it to youtube first you need to join youtube. 1- Click "Sign-Up" 2- choose a "Username and password" 3- enter your information 4- click the "Sign-Up" button. To upload your movie to youtube 1- click the yellow "Upload" button in the upper right of every screen 2- browse to your "Desktop" and select your video 3- while its uploading fill out the Title, Description, Tags (searchwords) and Category on the screen that appears 4- choose Public viewing or Private When it's done uploading click to watch it on youtube. You'll have your own channel now that you can customize. The previous chapters covered 1- Import Media 2- Storyboard and Timeline 3- Text and Titles 4- Special Effects and Transitions 5- Adding and Importing Music. In 1989 while attending the State University of New York at Binghamton (SUNY Binghamton) I worked with Bart Epstein to restructure the Harpur Television Workshop student group into Binghamton Television, aka BTV. While the Harpur Radio Workshop succeed in becoming WHRW 90.5 FM the television group was not as successful and was essentially a group in name only. (The school was known as Harpur College before it became part of the SUNY system and the liberal arts program is known as Harpur College.) With a one-time funding infusion for capital equipment and the commitment of many people we established a campus television production facility and cable station. Personal computers had brought about the desktop publishing revolution and were just starting to do the same for video. YouTube would not appear for another 16 years. This video was intended to serve as a video calling card to introduce the station. We were making up everything as we went as the university did not have a communication program. We did pretty well for a ragtag group of business, engineering, and liberal arts students.
